Hidden Treasure

Ok, so I’m no shabby chic lover.  I do not do any DIY projects.  (Trust me, you do not want me to) I’m that girl that broke her oven, due to not understanding the science behind the self cleaning locking process. (yet I have a law degree?)

I am incredibly bad at “revamping” anything.  I pretty much want everything shiny and new.

I can barely hang a picture on the wall.  I attribute this to what my eye doctor called, irregular eye height, or something like that.  Apparently my eyes are at two different levels in my head?  Is this for real?  Anyone?

So, due to my irregular eye placement, I bribe men into hanging pictures for me….. Watch out, if you bring your boyfriend over, I may have him help me hang a picture. Thanks JAVA. 🙂 And beer and pizza will always suffice as picture hanging compensation.

Yet despite my picture hanging inadequacies and my love of shiny and new; there is something so intriguing to me when exploring antique stores.  (Yes I said antique) No I am not looking for that chair I can revamp, no I do not want mason jars to fill with who knows what.  I don’t want that purse I know is not “vintage.”  I am looking for hidden treasure.  I am convinced one day I’ll find it too.  You know, the lady who went to Goodwill and discovered a $15,000 painting?

Well my hidden treasure may be less extraordinary, but i’m still convinced I’ll find that modern looking abstract painting, which will be the exact proportions I’m seeking… or the beautiful bar cart i’ve been dreaming of, all in my price range, i.e. non-profit salary budget.  Exactly what I call hidden treasure.

There is just something about that hunt.  And the hope, no belief, you will find exactly what you are looking for.  Even if you are not quite sure what that something is….
