Clams, Friends and a Hint of Heat

When you move to a new place and truly have to build a life without a lot of building blocks around you..

You have to accept that there will be a few lonely Friday nights or Saturday mornings, those times you normally spent out with your girlfriends, your favorite coffee shop, whatever that familiar place may be.

Those are the times you thank god for cable T.V.

Not joking.

Because all of a sudden a feature on a familiar place can instantly transport you back.

For me, one of those places was/is Broders Pasta Bar.

So of course, upon moving back, when Friend calls and demands we meet for dinner, and o the place just happens to be Broders, there is no turning her down. (excuse my terrible sentence structure)

You know a place is good when you can smell the garlic from three blocks away… (hmmm maybe I should find a place to live nearby… )

I’ve only ever been seated at the pasta bar, and I’m not sure I’d want it any other way.

A random conversation at the pasta bar, between a previous Minnesotan turned Chicago resident and myself, previous Milwaukean-returned Minnesotan, led to my order for the night.

Yes I’m continuing poor sentence structure…

And in case you were wondering……

I told you pasta is my weakness.

Happy weekend!
